UFO Chile #1 - October 1967

Here is ufology bulletin of Chile "UFO Chile" No. 2, page 4, published in Chile in October 1967. Impossible to find so far outside Chilean ufological circles, the newsletter was sent to me with mayn other treasures by an 87-year-old veteran Chilean ufologist in 2018, and is presented here for the first time with reproduction of the original pages, and my transcripts in Spanish, French, and English.

if it had a proper gravitational field as according to Plantier's theories on the propulsion system of flying disks.

Around eleven o'clock at night, a "blizzard" began to blow on Antarctica, a wind capable of reaching a speed of 300 kilometers per hour, and the sky was cloud-covered. At about two o'clock in the morning, in the middle of a time of calm, it was verified that the radioactivity decreased, the psychological tension eased in men, even before they could verify it visually, they were certain that the objects had disappeared. The next day, the radio activity was back to normal. In the afternoon, during a temporary break, the sky cleared by almost forty percent, the objects were no longer there.

On January 20, the helicopter rescued the four men. Although they did not dare to tell their adventure, for fear of ridicule, they decided to share it with a senior official of the Chilean Navy, who was not disturbed by the story. The officer knew many sightings of unidentified flying objects, recorded on almost all expeditions in Antarctica, though nothing as long or as precise as that of Barros and Tagle. The US Air Technical Intelligence Center (ATIC) also sent them a very complete questionnaire, which Barros and Tagle filled out and sent back.

IN SUPPORT OF ORTOTHENIES

Jacques Vallée's studies of alignments or "ortothenies" would seem to have lost much of their singularity; however, in spite of most of Vallée's criticisms of the accuracy of the orthotenies, I think the most interesting point is in Aimé Michel's observation that some of them seem to be repeated on different occasions, not limiting to observations made on the same day.

I will try to strengthen here the context presented in our first issue in support of this hypothesis, considering new examples.

By marking on a map at the same time the many ortothenies found for France in the period September - October 1954, one can see that many observations of different daytes fall on one of the ortothenias plotted; which is not surprising account given the large number of alignments found (more than a hundred in this period). However, when an alignment given for one day with nor more than two or three observations, and when it is completed on other days, the fact begins to be important, as in the case of AUPER alignment described in the previous article (we use the abbreviation indicated by Vallée in his book).

The "BAMOP" alignment, an excellent example

The comparison of the alignment produced on October 2 and 7, 1954, precisely days denser than the days of the alignments of the period, revealed a remarkable coincidence between the line Vannes Chateaumeillant - Morestel of day 2 and Plozevet - Montlevic - Beauvoir (BAMOP) of day 7. By performing the calculation of the maximum terrestrial circle which crosses Vannes and Morestel, it turns out that
