BOUZONVILLE. -- Since yesterday morning, the entire Bouzonville region has been talking about a mysterious craft that reportedly landed on the heights of Tromborn. The craft is said to have remained stationary for a few moments, then suddenly gained altitude and vanished into the sky.
Mr. Louis Moll, a railway crossing guard and a very serious man held in high regard by the entire population, finally decided yesterday morning to report the facts he witnessed to the gendarmerie.
Mr. Moll stated in particular: "On Sunday evening, around 9:15 p.m., I noticed a craft coming from the east emitting a bright light. I followed it with my eyes and saw it descend rapidly from the sky to land on the heights of Tromborn. Curious, I saw that it was fairly large, and suddenly its light changed color, although it still resembled that of a neon tube."
Regarding the actual size of the craft, Mr. Moll said it was approximately the size of a bus. After remaining on the ground for about forty seconds, the light it emitted turned reddish, and inside, the witness thought he saw small points moving around. Suddenly, and without any perceptible noise, after a sharp rotation, the craft ascended vertically, transforming into an orange ball that flattened and disappeared at high speed toward the southeast. The entire phenomenon lasted about a minute.
Mr. Moll decided to make this very clear statement to the gendarmerie after being approached by a resident of Téterchen who had witnessed the same event. This person had initially thought it was a large fire and had spoken to Mr. Moll, knowing he was originally from Oberdorff, the area where the craft reportedly landed. The Bouzonville gendarmerie is now trying to find additional witnesses to these strange events. Many people are said to have noticed them but, for fear of ridicule, have so far refrained from saying what they saw.
