The article below was published in the daily newspaper Nord Littoral, Calais, France, page 2, October 13, 1954.
Flying saucers and other cigars continue their round over France and in particular in our region of the Nord.
We talked about the craft which flew over the surroundings of Calais, Saturday morning, and now several of our fellow citizens have been witnesses of curious scenes in the sky of Calais, Sunday evening.
Indeed, around 11:30 p.m., on the third floor of a building on the Esplanade in Calais, a friendly employee of the Files de Calais received, with his wife, two friends who live in rue Vauban.
Suddenly, the attention of these people was attracted by the presence in the sky of curious craft which they do not qualify, a priori, of flying saucers but which they consider extremely curious.
All four of them, and for a very long time, until around 1 a.m., they observed bizarre things very high in the sky, things that got bigger and that took on very particular colors.
They could not have been shooting stars or natural phenomena.
The hypothesis of possible planes should also be rejected, according to these reliable people, needless to say, who were not all four victims of hallucinations.
On the other hand, an old lady from Calais-Nord observed the same curious fact.
Here again, this very calm person is also formal:
- Before, I did not believe in these saucer stories at all but today I am somewhat troubled!", she said.
