"To the Airport Chief: "I consider appropriate to bring to your attention the paragraphs which follow, which are logged at sheet 62 of the Daily Journal of this Service, about the observation by personal of this Service, of an aerial machine of extraordinary shape and speed." "02:30 p.m. - Roughly at the hour indicated, the undersigned and the operator of ACC Mrs. de Rizzardo, observed the sky in the north-eastern direction, when they managed to locate an object of oval form, that while remaining motionless, changed shape quickly, which caught their attention. Concentrating our attention, we placed it at an azimuth of 30 degrees and an angle of elevation of 15 degrees." "We then observe that another similar but smaller form appeared to be detached from it, which was placed below and then behind, really close, and both carrying out a vertical oscillating rise to disappear quickly. At the end of five minutes the operator of the ACC managed to observe it at an azimuth of 120 - 130 degrees and a vertical elevation of 20 degrees, with the oval form and a very fine prolongation, with two smaller discs at the ends." "While she went to seek binoculars, the object moved at a high speed towards the east and when she focused it, it was on the mountains of the Mines, and disappeared. Account of one of the witnesses (Mr. Sarandi D'Alvora) extracted from "LA TRIBUNA POPULAR" of January 8, 1955. "In company of three friends we went on December 7 to the Island of the Frenchman, [Isla del Francés] where we have a hut. We phad planned to spend the night and all the following day in the island, fishing, bathing, etc. "At approximately 09:30 p.m. my friends prepared a roast, at some distance from the hut. Very quickly, through trees and in the direction of the river, I saw a luminous object crossing, at enormous speed, in ascending line. One of my friends also saw it. I approached them and we briefly commented on the episode by withdrawing any importance to it. We were doing this when the object again appeared in our visual field, at a high speed, and this time in downward line, from north to south as if it thought of landing on the gournd or the sea in the southern end of the island. Because of the trees, we could not observe if it actually landed. We decide to go check this; the strangeness and the anxiety were already enormous. "We go up in a boat and start to row (we decided not to use the engine) in the southern direction of the island towards the mouth of the Santa Lucia river, known as "the Pass of the Box". We advance some 300 meters, and then, there, on the water, within some 25 meters of the insular coast, we see a large apparatus posed. It was an elliptic shape, some 10 meters in diameter and 1.80 meters in height at its central cone. We see it steel gray, sometimes bluish gray or with yellowish hue." |

"Sr.Jefe de Aeropuerto: "A los efectos que estime Ud.oportuno elevo a Ud. el parte que se transcribe a continuación, que luce a fojas 62 del libro Diario de este Servicio, referente a la observación por personal de este Servicio, de un móvil aéreo de forma y velocidad extraordinarias." "Hora 14.30.- Aproximadamente a la hora indicada, el suscrito y la operadora de ACC. Sra. de Rizzardo, estaban observando el cielo en dirección nordeste, cuando pudieron localizar un objeto de forma ovalada, que permaneciendo fijo, cambiaba de forma rápidamente, lo que les llamó la atención. Concentrada nuestra atención lo ubicamos en azimut de 30 grados y un ángulo vertical de 15 grados." "Luego observamos que parecíu desprenderse otra forma similar pero más pequeña, que se colocó debajo y luego detrás, bien junto, efectuando ambos un ascenso oscilante vertical para desaparecer rápidamente. A los cinco minutos la operadora del ACC volvió a observario con azimut de 120 a 130 grados y altura vertical de 20 grados, con la forma ovalada y una prolongación muy fina, con dos discos menores en los extremos." "Mientras se dirigía a tomar los binoculares, el objeto se desplazó a gran velocidad hacia el este y cuando lo enfocó se encontraba sobre las sierras de Minas, desapareciendo." "Posteriormente llamó a la Torre, telefónicamente, la emisora CX-30 pidiendo informes sobre si habíamos observado algo en el cielo. No dimos ninguna información." CASO No 6.- 7 de diciembre de 1954. - ISLA DEL FRANCES; RIO SANTA LUCIA (Límite de los Dep. de Canelones y San José). Relato de uno de los testigos (Sr. Sarandí D'Alvora) extractado de "LA TRIBUNA POPULAR" del 8 enero 1955. "En compañía de tres amigos había ido el día 7 de diciembre a la Isla del Francés, donde tenemos una casilla. Nos proponíamos pasar la noche y todo el día siguiente en la isla, pescando, bañándonos, etc. "A eso de las 21 y 30 mis amigos preparaban un asado, algo apartados de la casilla. De pronto, a través de los árboles y en la dirección del río ví cruzar un objeto luminoso, a enorme velocidad, en línea ascendente. Uno de mis amigos también pudo verlo. Me acerqué a ellos y comentamos brevemente el episodio aunqe restándole toda entidad. En eso estábamos cuando el objeto apareció nuevamente en nuestro campo visual, a gran velocidad y esta vez en línea descendente,de norte a sur como si pretendiera aterrizar o acuatizar en el extremo sur de la isla. Debido a los árboles no pudimos observar si efectivamente habia bajado. Decidimos constatario; ya la extrañeza y la ansiedad eran enormes. "Subimos a un bote y comenzamos a remar (resolvimos no utilizar el motor) en la dirección sur de la isla hacia la gargaota del río Santa Lucía conocida como "Paso del Bote". Avanzamos unos 300 metros, mientras allá, sobre el agua, a unos 25 metros de la costa isleña, veíamos posado un gran aparato. Tenía una forma elíptica, unos 10 metros de diámetro y mts. 1,80 de altura en su cono central. Lo veíamos gris acero, a veces azulado o con tonos amarillentos." |
