A "gigantic" UFO in Honfleur

A "GIGANTIC UFO swaying in the sky" was seen by a dozen young people, on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, in Honfleur (Calvados).

The young men, whose testimony was recorded at the Honfleur Police Station, were seated on the edge of the old basin when the strange object appeared to them. "The white and oval craft was moving in the sky with a light inside," said one of the witnesses. "Suddenly, it ignited and we saw as a kind of footbridge descend to the ground while the object disappeared towards the south, in the near countryside".

Several other people were also witnesses to the phenomenon.

Note: The gendarmerie dound part of the object hanging from a tree. The debris were those of a "balloon made of tissue paper and iron wire built by an amateur", a device later called a "Chinese lantern".
