USSEL. -- The gendarmes of the Bugeat brigade, having heard public rumors yesterday morning that a farmer from the hamlet of Mourieras, in the commune of Bugeat (Corrèze), Mr. Antoine Mazaud, had spoken with the passenger of a flying saucer, went to see the farmer to confirm these reports.
Mazaud told them that on September 10, at 8:30 PM, while returning from his fields, he had encountered on a path, 1,500 meters from his home, an unknown individual of average height, wearing a helmet without earflaps, who shook his hand and embraced him while uttering incomprehensible words.
The man then boarded a cigar-shaped craft, unlit and about three to four meters long, which took off vertically and departed westward, making no more noise than a bee.
Mr. Mazaud stated that he had not wanted to speak about this incident for fear of being ridiculed. However, he confided in his wife, who then shared it with the neighbors, and that is how the gendarmerie learned of it.
The lieutenant of the gendarmerie in command of the section visited the site, but no traces were found.
