U.F.O's in the sky of Bulgaria

The Press of Sofia reports, yesterday, of a strange phenomenon which it however dares to qualify only with the interrogative mode. "Rabotnitchesko Delo", official newspaper of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Bulgaria indeed headlines: "U.F.O's above Pleven?".

On the 29th this month, between 05:40 and 9 local time, in the department of Pleven (Northern Bulgaria), the newspaper indicates, two unidentified flying objects were seen by hundreds of witnesses.

These two objects, absolutely identical, and which reportdely had dimensions of the planet the moon, would have stayed motionless at 1000 meters approximately, before rising quickly vertically and disappearing towards the West. They reportedly released on one side a strong red light, and on the other a silvery light.

Questioned on this matter, Pr Kiril Seraphimov, president of the Bulgarian Committee of prospection and exploitation of cosmic space, rejected any assumption admitting the existence of "flying saucers" coming from extraterrestrial civilizations: no sound effect was recorded and the phenomenon was not photographed. He stated that the calm kept by the Bulgarian anti-aircraft defence makes him think that it is a "natural phenomenon still not explained".
