Monday, around 1:30 p.m., several members of the crew of the pilot boat of the Calais naval station saw, at a very great height, a kind of cigar flying from the East and heading over the sea towards the North-West. The craft emitted at the rear a dazzling glow difficult to follow with the telescope.
