Did a Méricourt Resident Film an Unusual Object?

[Photo caption:] What is this black dot in the middle of the screen that changed shape twice while Eric Chadufaux was filming? - Ph. "La Voix"

"When we first saw it in the clear sky, the object had the shape of a coffee bean. It was rather oval and black, with slightly blurry edges. It moved slowly, in jerky motions, at the altitude of a helicopter."

This is how Méricourt resident Eric Chadufaux describes the phenomenon he observed on Saturday, May 14, around 9:30 p.m., in Luot, a small village located 15 km from Avranches, in the Manche department, where he was vacationing with his family.

It was Eric Chadufaux's father who first saw the object when stepping out of the house. His son immediately grabbed his camcorder to film it.

"We didn't have the impression that it was descending but rather that it remained at the same altitude while getting closer.

Then its shape changed: it became round. Additionally, we could distinguish what looked like a kind of tripod, with a brighter glow on one side. It made no noise. This lasted about ten minutes."

So what did Eric Chadufaux film? To get an answer, he will return to Luot on June 10 to hand over a copy of his footage to the Avranches gendarmerie. They are expected to forward the tape to the prefect as well as the military officer in charge of the region, who will, in turn, send it to more specialized services.
