HAVING LANDED DURING
A POWER FAILURE IN THE VILLAGE

THE "SAUCER" OF CIZE
COULD NO LONGER FLY

Actually, the mysterious craft
was just a farm tractor

Champagnole (from our C.P.). -- In Champagnole, some are obsessed with the saucers. One talks about it constantly and we have been put to the test in recent days to check the various reports of saucers seen in the skies... or even on the ground!

Here is the latest story that was told to me and that stirred up a whole village.

Saturday evening, while a power failure had plunged the small village of Cize into complete darkness, two men arrived one after the other and declared to have seen a saucer posed at the location called "Gerland", at the exit of Champagnole. The first, Mr. Laboul-Colin arriving hastily on a motorcycle, gave a detailed description of what he had seen. Red and white lights circling in the open field. The saucer, obviously could not fly!

We had to go and see right away. The second, Mr. Chiadot, ex-mayor of Sapois, who came by bicycle, made exactly the same statements. In M. Lacroix's establishment around the lantern, there was soon a crowd. The whole village was there, gathered. We alerted Mr. Robert Ghini, mayor of Cize. For the n...th time the two witnesses specified what they had seen: "It was going in circles and was illuminated! We heard nothing."

A few people came to the scene. We quickly had the explanation of the phenomenon. But we were careful not to tell the two brave fellows who, in good faith, tirelessly, began their story over to the laughter of the assembly.

Now perhaps they have been informed.

Mr. Fernand Grossen, city councilor, was plowing his fields in the moonlight, with a tractor, all lights on!
