Okawville, Illinois. -- Fred O. Haler displayed a balloon Saturday which could have been mistaken in the air for a "flying saucer."
He learned that the five foot balloon, equipped with a reflector, is the same type used in Army radar tests. Haler guessed the balloon had broken away from an Army testing ground.
The balloon, which had apparently been inflated with helium, fell heer [sic, here] Thursday. From the best information Haler could get, he figured that radio waves were fired at the balloon's reflector to develop accuracy in radar aimed gun.
