LOCH NESS MONSTER AND FLYING SAUCERS

INVERNESS (UP). -- If the American flying saucer craze was a conspiracy to divert tourists from the Loch Ness Monster, well, one can say that this conspiracy has failed, triumphantly announced Mr. McKillop, an official from Invernesshire County.

All the hotels are full, and every day countless eyes scan the deepest loch in Scotland.

"These flying saucers are just a passing fad," added Mr. McKillop. "The monster, on the other hand, has been drawing visitors here for nearly 1,400 years."

"Well, after the flying saucers have joined the mysterious Scandinavian rockets in obscurity, the curious will still come in droves to see our old monster or its descendants."

Mr. McKillop last saw the monster on April 5, just as the tourist season was off to a sluggish start.

"It was calm and beautiful weather - the kind the monster likes. I suddenly saw a violent churning of the water, and a large body began to move at high speed, after which it disappeared in a burst of water."

And to conclude, Mr. McKillop added:

"Besides, those saucers are in the sky and give tourists a stiff neck. Here, visitors can sit comfortably on hotel terraces and enjoy refreshing drinks while waiting for the monster to appear."
