Tall-tale in the land of fjords?

TWO NORWEGIAN WOMEN claim to have seen a flying saucer land, then "take off"!

Oslo, August 25. -- A flying saucer is said to have landed last Friday in the Mosjøen region, about 300 kilometers northeast of Trondheim, and the pilot, a dark-haired man with long hair, was reportedly seen by two sisters who were picking blueberries in the mountains, according to a local newspaper.

A police officer from Mosjøen confirmed that the two sisters, aged 24 and 32 respectively, and not known for being “eccentric,” claimed to have seen the flying saucer land.

One of the sisters reaffirmed her statements to the press today.

Both had initially agreed to remain absolutely silent, fearing that the story would make them appear crazy, but one of them, pressed by questions from her husband—who had found her behavior strange that day—revealed their extraordinary adventure.

A FLYING SAUCER?

Continued from the front page

During a walk in the mountains to pick blueberries, they spotted a man crouching behind a tree. They were about to continue on their way when the man suddenly stood up and began to laugh. Thinking he was insane, the two sisters prepared to flee, but the man, who seemed gentle, gestured for them to come closer.

One of them then reached out her hand to greet him, but the stranger only clapped his hands and shook his head when offered a bucket of blueberries.

The man had dark skin like a gypsy, was of medium height, and wore a khaki-colored jumpsuit. He spoke words the two women could not understand and began drawing on something that looked like a piece of paper—the sun, the moon, the earth—pointed to the earth, then to the woman herself, repeated the gesture for another planet, and then pointed to himself.

The man then signaled for them to follow him and, to their great astonishment, they saw a craft about one and a half meters high and three to four meters in diameter, resembling the lids of giant saucepans.

One of the sisters wanted to touch the craft, but the man grabbed her arm and showed her, for reasons unknown, some tree roots, then boarded his machine, which quickly took off vertically.

In their confusion, the two sisters only remember that the craft began to spin on itself, slowly at first, making no more noise than a bumblebee, then faster and faster before taking off quickly and disappearing into the horizon.

Accompanied by three police officers, the two sisters went to the scene of their adventure this morning, where no evidence could be found to prove any kind of landing.

Although they still insist that every part of their story is true, the Norwegian police deemed it unnecessary to continue the investigation and will not even analyze the soil where the strange craft is said to have landed.
