October 9, 1954, Soubran, Charente-Maritime:

Résumé:

Aimé Michel indicated in his 1958 book that on Saturday evening, October 9, 1954, several inhabitants of Soubran in the Charente-Maritime saw a luminous spherical object: which landed rapidly in a pasture.

He gave as source the newspaper Ouest-France for October 12, 1954.

Guy Quincy, in the 1950s, listed the case in his catalog without details or sources, giving the time as the evening.

Later, Michel Figuet added that the witnesses included Mr. J. Couillaud, Mr. Moreau, Jean Cotraux, and Emile Doussin.

The ufologist Fernand Lagarde believed he found a connection between the locations of UFO sightings and the locations of earthquakes or geological faults.

He published a map centered on the Charente-Maritime department, with parts of the surrounding departments, with these cases (his list is incomplete) represented, all dates October 1954:

The case "216" of "10-9-54" in Soubran is noted by this ufology magazine in a list of cases that require either an investigation or a re-investigation.

The two authors, ufologists, journalists, indicate that on October 9, 1954 in Soubran in Charente-Maritime, several inhabitants of this sector saw a spherical luminous object landing in a meadow.

They note that the information is sparse and comes from the catalogue by Jacques Vallée, case #216, in L.D.L.N. of November 1969.
