Summary:

In his 1958 book, Aimé Michel reported a close encounter of the third kind, according to the newspaper Sud-Ouest for October 10, 1954.

On October 11, 1954 - clearly a false date - three Bordeaux residents who wanted to remain anonymous were driving between Royan and Breuillet on the GC 40, when at 07:30 p.m., their attention was attracted by an intense reddish glow in the sky. Intrigued, they stopped the car, came out, and then observed at 200 or 300 meters of the road a craft of circular shape surmounted by a kind of luminous red-orange dome; the craft produced no noise.

Ufologist and journalist Charles Garreau quoted in 1974:

"We then realized that it emanated from a circular object of approximately 6 meters in diameter, overcome of a luminous dome of orange red color. This thing was within approximately 300 meters of the road. It was motionless, at some twenty meters of altitude. We did not hear any noise. Quite suddenly, it started moving laterally, flew over a small wood and disappeared from our sight. However we still saw the gleam. We thought that it had landed. One among us remained close to the car to alert potential additional witnesses. My comrade and I left in the direction the light. We progressed of approximately 400 meters before seeing the machine again. Near it, we saw four small beings, whose size was approximately 1 meter, who were busy with a mysterious work. Surprised, we stopped a few seconds. Then we resumed our walk, the most silently possible. But whereas we were not any more than about fifteen meters of them, the four characters located us. They circumvented the machine and disappeared. Almost at once, the machine was wrapped by a succession of blue, orange and red lights. We were completely dazzled. The machine then took off at a frightening speed."

Many ufologists thereafter gave summaries falsely dating the case on October 11, 1954, like Aimé Michel who put three separate dots on a map of "alignments" of observations of October 11, 1954; Michel Figuet and Jean-Louis Ruchon gave the date of October 4, 1954, in their 1979 book; but the case continued to be published with the wrong date.

There seems to have been no investigation or verification on what might have been just an anonymous letter to the Sud-Ouest newspaper without further corroboration.

Reports:

[Ref. aml1:] AIME MICHEL:

Aimé Michel explains that three inhabitants of Bordeaux who wanted remain anonymous were driving between Royan and Breuillet on the G.C. 40 when at 07:30 P.M. their attention was drawn to an intense reddish gleam which "irradiated" in the sky. Intrigued by the dosplay, they stopped the car and stepped out. They then discovered at 200 or 300 meters off the road a circular shaped craft surmounted by a sort of luminous red-orange dome, the craft emitting no noise.

The witnesses said that the machine "seemed suspended at a ten meters altitude by some invisible string, so much his stability was perfect."

After a few seconds, the object started to move horizontally and crossed a short distance until being behind a small wood from which only its luminosity was still visible to the three witnesses.

Two of the three witnesses then walked towards this place, equipped with a flashlight, and after having crossed a distance of 400 meters, they saw the craft landed in a field surrounded by trees, with four beings of a height evaluated as one meter being busy with some sort of activity near the craft.

When the two witnesses arrived at some fifteen meters of the beings, the latter circumvented their craft and disappeared inside of it. Almost at once, their craft went through a rapid succession of color changes, blue, orange, red, which dazzled the two witnesses, then took off at a speed described as "scaring."

He put the sighting location on a map supposed to demonstrate cases are lined up:

The author indicates that on October 11, 1954, three men were traveling by car close to Taupignac when they suddenly observed a sphere of an intense red in the sky. They stopped and came out of the car for better seeing. They then discovered within approximately 200 meters of the road and 10 meters above ground-level, a round machine with a dome, of approximately 6 meters in diameter, which projected a yellow-red light. It was perfectly motionless and did not make any noise.

Suddenly it moved horizontally at a small distance and landed behind a wood. Two of the witnesses moved towards this place and were soon able to observe the strange apparatus again.

Four small men, of approximately 1 meter in height, seem to be busy around the machine. When the witnesses arrived at less than 15 meters of the apparatus, the four entities rushed in the disc by the opposite side.

The two men were dazzled by a red explosion of blue then orange then red light, and the object flew away vertically at a fantastic speed.

The American ufologist indicates that on October 11, 1954, in France, in Taupignac, three men left their car to observe a sphere of an intense red in the sky. The sphere was round, with a dome, six meters in diameter approximately, and spread an orange light.

Suddenly, it moved and landed behind the wood. Two witnesses approached and saw four one meter tall dwarves who seemed busy around their apparatus.

When the witnesses arrived at a few meters of it, the small beings returned precipitately inside, the witnesses were then blinded by a gush of blue, then orange, then red light, and the apparatus disappeared at full speed.

He indicates that this example of case of a close encounter of the third kind comes from the catalogue by Jacques Vallée who extracted it from the Aime Michel's book.

1954 Addendum

New October 4, 1954 Night Bruellet (Charente Maritime). France Type B

Some Bordelaise residents and their friends were returning to Breullet, on the road from Royan, when their attention was suddenly drawn to an intense red light hovering in the sky. They stopped and got out of their cars.

About 12 or 13 meters from the ground they saw a round device (engin) about six meters in diameter with a cupola, from which shone a yellowish-red light. There wasn't a sound (Aucun bruit). A few seconds later the engin moved and dropped toward the ground, behind some trees. Two or three drivers went into the woods with a spotlight (electric torch) and saw, in a meadow surrounded by trees, the engin, around which four little men one meter high busied themselves.

The drivers moved toward the engin but the occupants entered it. There was a blue light, then an orange, then red, which blinded them; then the engin took off making no noise.

The two authors indicate that on October 4, 1954 at 07:30 p.m., in Taupignac between Royan and Breuillet in the department of Charente-Maritime, three people were circulating by car on the GC 40 road between Royan and Breuillet.

At the location "Taupignac" their attention was drawn by an intense reddish gleam in the sky. They then discovered a circular object of six meters in diameter topped by some sort of luminous red-orange dome, motionless and silent at 10 meters of altitude.

Suddenly, it moved horizontally on a short distance and landed behind a wood. Its red-orange luminosity was still visible for the witnesses.

Two of them took a flashlight and moved towards the wood where the light was visible. After having crossed 400 meters, they saw the machine landed in a meadow surrounded by trees.

Close to this object, four small beings of approximately one meter in height were busy with some strange work. The two motorists went nearer until ten meters, at this time the entities circumvent the machine and disappeared in it.

Almost at once, the object very quickly underwent a succession of colors: blue, orange and red, blinding the two witnesses, and took off at a vertiginous speed.

The authors indicate that the sources are Sud-Ouest for October 10, 1954, dating the case of October 4; Vallée's catalogue, case 238 dated of the 11th; Aimé Michel's A Propos des S.V. page 198 dated 11th; Garreau and Lavier's Face aux E.T pages 75-76 dated 11th.

Jean Sider indicates that on October 4, 1954, at 07:30 p.m. in Taupignac, the Charente-Maritime, three anonymous residents of Bordeaux were driving by car between Royan and Breuillet and suddenly saw a circular object of 6 meters in diameter topped by an orange-red luminous dome, hovering motionless ten meters above the ground in complete silence.

The machine then started a move and appeared to land 40 meters further.

The witnesses parked their vehicle and walked towards the object, using a flashlight to see. The object was posed in a meadow surrounded by trees and the witnesses saw four small being, approximately 1 meter tall, busy at the side of the object.

When the witnesses arrived at 10 meters of these creatures, they circumvented the apparatus and seemed to disappear inside, the machine changed in various colors, blue, orange, red, and took off at a fantastic speed.

Jean Sider indicates that the source is Michel Figuet page 119 and that several books give the wrong date of October 11 when it was really October 4.

He points out that Figuet made the mistake of noting the Taupignac case twice with two different dates, October 4, 1954 on page 119 and October 11, 1954 on page 150.

The website indicates that on 11 October 1954 at 19:30 in Taupignac, France, "Three men driving near Taupignac, France got out of their car to observe an intense red sphere in the sky. Then they discovered a round machine with a dome, 6 meters in diameter, giving off a yellow-red light, only 200 meters away from them at 10 m altitude. It was motionless and silent. It suddenly moved horizontally for a short distance and landed behind a woods. Two witnesses went closer and saw four dwarfs, one meter tall, who seemed busy with the machine. The creatures rushed inside when the witnesses arrived within 15 m. The witnesses was blinded by a sudden burst of light blue, then orange, then red, and the object took off vertically at fantastic speed."

And: "Three anonymous residents of Bordeaux got out of their car to observe an orange luminous disc, 20 ft in diameter, hovering over the ground. Walking, they then found it on the ground, with 4 little creatures 3 ft tall engaged in some kind of activity. When they got within 50 ft these beings rushed into the object, which then emitted dazzling blue, orange, and red light, and left the ground at "terrifying" speed."

On its site web in a heading entitled "Sacred UFOs", the newspaper talks about "Four small beings" who "were busy", in Breuillet on October 11, 1954 at 19:30, with three witnesses.

The newspaper says: "Three individuals circulate in car on the GC 40, between Royan and Breuillet. At the place called Taupignac, their attention is attracted by an intense reddish gleam in the sky. They discover a circular object 6 meters in diameter, surmounted by a kind of luminous red-orange dome. Motionless and silent, the object hovers at ten meters of altitude."

"Suddenly, it moves in a horizontal manner on a short distance, before landing behind a wood. Its luminous halation crosses the screen of the trees. Two of the three witnesses then take a flashlight and move towards the wood irradiated of an orange red light. After having crossed 400 meters, they see the craft posed in a meadow surrounded by trees. Close to this object, four small beings approximately one meter in height are busy doing a strange work. The two motorists approach them until ten meters. The entities then circumvent hurriedly the craft and disappear inside. At once, the object changes to all the colors, blue, orange, red, dazzling the two witnesses, then takes off at a vertiginous speed."

TAUPIGNAC (CHARENTE-MARITIME : FRANCE)

Three men from Bordeaux, who did not want their names to be used, were driving along Rte CG 40 when they noticed red glow lighting up the area. They got out and saw, 200-300m from the road, a disc, surmounted by a luminous orange-red dome, suspended silently about 10m above the ground. It was about 6m in diameter. The object then moved horizontally behind some woods, its light still shining through three trees. Two of the men went to investigate with a flashlight, and after 400m encountered the machine landed in a field surrounded by trees. Near it were four dwarfs, about 1m tall, engaged in some sort of activity. As the men approached to within 15m, the dwarfs went round the machine and apparently went inside. The object then changed color blue-orange-red, dazzling the two men, and left the ground at terrific speed.

Three unidentified people were returning to Brueillet [sic] when near Taupignac, they observed a red luminous object hovering over a nearby wood. They stopped the car and got out, observing a round device about 6 meters in diameter, hovering motionless about 10 or 12 meters above the ground. After a few seconds it moved off horizontally, and then descended into a small wooded area. Taking with them flashlights, two of the riders entered the woods; in a clearing they discovered the object, around which four little beings of one-meter height were busying themselves. As the two witnesses approached, the beings quickly entered the object, which emitted blue, then orange, and then red lights, dazzling them. It ascended quickly without any noise.

The author indicates that there was a close encounter of the third kind in Taupignac, Charente-Maritime, on October 4, 1954 at 7:30 pm:

Three anonymous inhabitants of Bordeaux were driving by car on the GC 40 between Royan and Breuillet, when their attention was caught by an intense reddish glow in the sky. They then discovered a circular object, six meters in diameter, surmounted by a kind of red-orange luminous dome, motionless and silent at 10 meters above sea level.

Suddenly, it moved horizontally for a short distance and landed behind a wood, its brightness still visible to the witnesses.

Two of them took an electric flashlight and headed for the wood where the red-orange glow was visible. After having traveled 400 meters, they saw the machine posed in a meadow surrounded by trees. Near this object four little beings, about a meter in height, were busy with a strange task.

The two motorists approached them up to a dozen yards, when the little beings went around the machine, entered in it, and almost immediately the object passed very quickly through a succession of colors: blue, orange and red, dazzling the two witnesses, and it took off at a dizzying speed.

November 11, 1954, a day of routine, full of UFOs...!

Categories: #Ufologists ...

Some very interesting cases of UFO encounters made on our land in France during the famous "wave" of 1954, sometimes with entities, and witness paralysis, often with exotic "vehicles" which seem in difficulty, or suffering anomalies!

[... other case ...]

Still on the same day, but at 7:30 p.m. in Breuillet in Charente Maritime, three witnesses were driving on the GC 40 between Royan and Breuillet. At a place called "Taupignac" their attention is drawn by an intense reddish glow in the sky. So, they discover a circular object six meters in diameter surmounted by a sort of luminous red-orange dome. It is motionless and silent at an altitude of 10 meters.

Suddenly it moves horizontally for a short distance and lands behind a wood. Its brightness is still visible to the witnesses. Two of them take an electric flashlight and walk towards the wood where the red-orange glow is visible. After having traveled 400 meters, they see the machine posed in a meadow surrounded by trees. Near this object, four small beings about a meter high are busy with a strange task.

The two motorists approach them up to ten meters, when the entities bypass the craft and disappear in it. Almost immediately, the object passes very quickly through a succession of colors: blue, orange and red, dazzling the two witnesses and takes off at breakneck speed.

It is reminiscent of this video that appeared recently on the net, and which is undoubtedly a fake, but very well done!

[... other case ...]

This incredible day of November 11, 1954 in France, finally appears banal in terms of UFO appearances, and in comparison to the other days of this famous UFO wave over France in 1954, as we will see in more other subjects that we will deal with on a daily basis!

On the "route de Royan" before entering Taupignac when going from Royan towards Breuillet, there are nowadays (2000) fields and small woods; so there is no contradiction on this matter.
