Saucers and a variant:

The interplanetary diver

This is no longer an epidemic - it's a full-on invasion of saucers. Just yesterday alone, sightings were reported in the Rhône, Isère, Drôme, and Savoie. And that's just in France, as foreign countries are not spared by this strange affliction either. For example, in Sweden, an amateur filmmaker captured footage of a luminous sphere trailing a long fiery tail. In truth, this saucer was flying so high and so fast that the filmmaker had to use a telephoto lens. The developed film was shown to a group of experts, who unanimously stated that, frankly, not much could be seen - but that might have been due to poor visibility.

But let's return to France, where saucers have also been filmed.

A Paris music hall director claims to have filmed a saucer flying low near L'Arbresle

It was in the region of L'Arbresle that a music hall director managed to train a camera on one of these mysterious saucers, which he estimated to be flying at around 700 meters altitude. Once the film is developed, we'll know whether it was an optical illusion or not.

"A little being resembling a cellophane scarecrow..."

In the Drôme, a resident of Valence, Mrs. L..., who was walking near Chabeuil, claims to have encountered a small being dressed so strangely that she initially mistook it for a scarecrow made of cellophane. The dog accompanying her barked furiously, seized with terror. As for Mrs. L..., equally terrified, she hid behind a hedge.

"The sky diver came and stroked my arm"

A farmer from Vienne, Mr. Yves David, now holds the record for originality. He claims to have seen an "interplanetary diver" walk toward him on the road.

Here is his account:

"The sky diver emerged from a craft that I couldn't possibly describe, as it resembled nothing I've ever seen. He came and stroked my arm, emitted unintelligible sounds, and returned to his aircraft."

A green beam of light was projected toward him, freezing him in place, and then the indescribable craft disappeared vertically into the sky without making any noise.

Mr. David says he didn't want to speak about this strange encounter for fear of being ridiculed. However, he eventually told a friend, asking if others had seen the 'diver.' That's how the whole village found out.

FLYING SAUCERS

It was then that she saw a flying disc rise with a whistling sound above the cornfield bordering the path. Shortly afterward, the witness and some peasants went into the field where, according to them, a circular trace about 3 meters in diameter could be seen. The corn stalks were flattened, and the branches at the edge were broken.

Other residents of Chabeuil also reported seeing, that same day, a flying saucer moving over the countryside.

Fifteen witnesses near Lake Bourget

Finally, in Savoie, near Lake Bourget, above Mount Revard, several motorists - fifteen people in total - simultaneously saw a craft shaped like a disc moving around for about four minutes before suddenly disappearing.

One of the witnesses, a doctor from Chambéry, is a former artillery observer. He drew a diagram reproducing the trajectory of the mysterious craft.

Other saucers were reported at Canet-Plage and in Haute-Garonne.

At the sight of a flying saucer, a locomotive fireman falls ill

Mr. Gérard, the engineer, and Mr. Paroux, the fireman, who were driving an empty train engine from Nantes, saw last night - while passing through a place called "La Butte du Rouge," in the commune of Saint-Nicolas-de-Redon (Ille-et-Vilaine) - a craft rising from the nearby marshes.

This craft, of considerable length, trailed a luminous streak, flew for about ten seconds above the engine, and disappeared into the sky.

While the engineer remained calm, the fireman was so frightened that he fell ill and had to undergo a medical examination the following morning.

The officers of a Dutch ship observed a saucer shaped like a half-moon

From Holland also come several accounts of saucers. Here is the most unusual one:

The captain of the cargo ship "Stroose Beer" and the five officers of his crew observed, off the Dutch coast, a saucer "the size and shape of a half-moon."

The captain firmly ruled out the possibility of it being a weather balloon.

At first motionless, the disc then moved westward and disappeared behind the clouds at an altitude of about 14,000 meters.
