Several persons were reported to have seen a mysterious unidentified flying object hovering for five minutes motionless over the Watonga City airport Friday night about 8:30 p.m.
Milton Banta, Watonga printer, said he and his neighbor, Gary Edsall, took time-delay pictures of the "big round light with long rays extended out of the object." These pictures are being processed for possible identification.
Banta said others he knew of saw "it" were city policemen Keith Kelly and James Winter. Also Bub Rice, Leslie Rice and Dennis Jackson.
Two-way radio reception or transmitting was cut supposedly by the presence of the "light two times bigger than the evening star," Banta said.
