-- A Government radar set tracked four unidentified flying objects traveling up to 3.600 miles an hour over California last spring, a private research organization said today.
The incident was reported to the National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena [NICAP] by Civil Aeronautics Administration control tower operators in the Los Angeles area. The committee disclosed its report in the first issue of its monthly magazine.
The magazine said that the tower operators reported that an "object appeared on the tower radarscope on March 23. In the next few minutes, it said, three more objects were tracked at speeds estimated as nearly 3.650 M. P. M. [sic]
The Committee was formed several months ago to investigate "flying saucers" reports.
