To explain his tardiness at work
DIJON. -- Ten days ago, M. Narcy, a 47-year-old road worker in Mertrud, arrived at work out of breath. "I saw a flying saucer," he said, providing numerous details: an orange-colored craft landed in a field, a small being dressed in a fur-covered cloak, and a spectacular vertical takeoff. Moreover, M. Narcy could show the exact location.
Along with two of his colleagues, MM. Riel and Henry, he returned to the site. All three confirmed that the dew was dry over a certain area, and the grass had a slightly milky appearance at that spot.
Questioned by the police, Narcy admitted that he had completely fabricated the story to justify his late arrival at work.
