STRANGER AND STRANGER

THE PILOT OF A FLYING SAUCER SHAKES HANDS WITH TWO NORWEGIAN WOMEN!

The Oslo authorities express the utmost skepticism

Oslo, August 25 (A.F.P.). One of the two sisters who claim to have seen, last Friday, a flying saucer and its pilot, about seven kilometers from Mosjøen, reaffirmed her statements to the press today. At first, both had agreed to maintain the strictest silence, fearing their story would make them seem insane, but one of them, pressed with questions by her husband, who had found her behavior strange that day, revealed their extraordinary adventure.

During a mountain walk to pick blueberries, they had noticed a man crouching behind a tree. They were about to continue on their way when the man suddenly stood up and began to laugh. Thinking he was a madman, the two sisters were preparing to flee, but the man, who seemed gentle, beckoned them to approach.

One of them then held out her hand to greet him, but the stranger only clapped his hands and shook his head when offered a pail of blueberries.

The man was dark-skinned like a gypsy, of medium height, and wore a khaki-colored suit. He spoke words the two women could not understand and began drawing on something that looked like a piece of paper: the sun, the moon, the earth—he pointed to the latter, then to them, repeated the gesture for another planet, and then to himself.

The man then signaled them to follow him and, to their great astonishment, showed them a craft about a meter and a half high, 3 to 4 meters in diameter, resembling the lid of a giant cooking pot.

One of the sisters tried to touch the craft, but the man grabbed her arm and, for reasons she did not understand, pointed to some tree roots, then climbed aboard his machine.

In their confusion, the two sisters only remember that the craft began spinning on itself—slowly at first, making hardly more noise than a bumblebee, then faster and faster until it quickly took off and disappeared into the horizon.

Accompanied by three police officers, the two sisters went this morning to the site of their adventure, where no trace could be found that might prove any kind of landing.

Although they again insist that every part of their story is true, the Norwegian police have deemed it unnecessary to continue the investigation and will not even analyze the soil where the strange craft is said to have landed.
