Oran. -- On Wednesday morning, around 3 am, Mr. Gaston Blanquère, residing in Oran, returned with passengers on board his car, when, shortly after the village of Jean Mermoz, the motorists' attention was attracted by a gleam coming from the south and growing rapidly. A luminous disk crossed the road above them, descended a few hundred meters and appeared to make contact with the ground. The machine was the size of a small car and composed of a cupola on the top from which a yellow gleam emerged. The inner wall of the disc let escape a bluish glow of light. Some very powerful beacons swept the plain. Ten minutes later, the brightness subsided and the craft, rising in height, moved away quickly and silently.
