AMIENS. -- The flying saucer of Estrées-Deniécourt, near Amiens, was merely a prank by a few electricians from a local company, who admitted they wanted to amuse themselves at the expense of the gendarmerie.
A report was filed against them for contempt of magistrate, and a case was forwarded to the Public Prosecutor of Amiens.
This incident has not discouraged enthusiasts of the marvelous. Near Abbeville, an octogenarian, Mrs. Widow Bonnard, residing at the place known as Le Marais-Saint-Pol, claims to have seen not a saucer, but a flying basin.
The object moved slowly, very slowly, soundlessly across the sky. "I didn't hear the slightest engine noise, but oh, how beautiful it was! How beautiful it was!" declared Mrs. Bonnard.
