The testimony is indirect, but comes from a close reltive of Jean-Eric, a resident of Saint-Cyr-sur-Loire: his wife. "My wife is a nurse near Monnaie. Monday at 7, she calls me to describe a phenomenon that occurs before her eyes: a ball of fire that changes its shape before flattening out." Whim, hallucination, dream, waking nightmare? No, it's serious, according to Jean-Eric: "I suggested she takes a photo and call the police. My wife has a very rationalist background, but she was afraid of looking silly."
The Monnaie police were not aware of this phenomenon yesterday afternoon when we asked the question: they had not received any such testimony.
