Dieppe. -- The mysterious luminous phenomenon followed by explosions, which on Thursday morning greatly stirred the entire population of the Dieppe region, continues to arouse much discussion.
Many hypotheses have been put forward, but supporters of the meteorite theory seem to have just scored a point. Indeed, fragments of metallic appearance, some as large as an ordinary pebble, have been discovered on the beach at Dieppe.
Sent to the municipal laboratory in Rouen for analysis, these fragments appeared to chemists to be iron-based. Until now, it has been impossible to further specify their composition and to determine with certainty their origin.
