ROME. -- "Flying saucers" were reported Monday evening in several parts of the Italian peninsula, as well as in Salzburg, Austria.
Near Livorno, airport employees stated they saw a luminous object descend from the stratosphere at a speed of 2,000 kilometers per hour, hover for 20 seconds, then disappear into the sky.
In Sotie, several people saw a luminous object "as big as half the moon" cross the sky.
Finally, in Salzburg, a number of people saw a bright "disk-shaped" object hover in the sky for about thirty seconds before rapidly vanishing in the southwest direction.
