The Belgium flap:

On November 29, 1989, in the Eupen region:

About 06:30 p.m. North of Verviers, Mr. S. and his mother:

SOBEPS gives this information:

On November 29, 1989, at 06:30 p.m., Mr. S. and his mother saw north of Verviers a dark object moving very slowly from east to west, about 300 meters above the ground and 500 meters from two witnesses.

It was a craft that had three powerful white light projectors and a sort of orange-red rotating light in the middle.

It was a triangle with a narrow base.

There is a summary for this observation, published on the web by the Belgian ufologist Godelieve Van Overmeire in her catalog circa 1999, now gone, but much copied by UFO websites and forums. This summary is as follows:

1989, November 29

BELGIUM, Verviers

At 06:30 p.m., north of Verviers, Mr. S. and his mother see a dark object moving slowly from east to west about 300 m above the ground and 500 m from them. This craft has three powerful white light projectors and a kind of red-orange beacon in the middle. It is a narrow base triangle. [...other case...] (VOB 1 - SOBEPS 1991, p. 29)

06:40 p.m.

Localization:

Above: Localization of Verviers, Battice, Eupen. The red dot shows the place indicated by SOBEPS (source cited above).

Notes:

The information I have at the moment are too poor to risk a sure explanation - airplane, helicopter, alien craft... - In particular, it would require an angular size, the indication of possible sounds or silence, and so on. However, there was still at least one and probably two more persons intrigued by a flying object that evening in the area of Verviers - Eupen.
