ALSACAT:

ALSACAT is my comprehensive catalog of UFO sighting reports in Alsace, the region is the North-East of France, whether they are "explained" or "unexplained".

The ALSACAT catalog is made of case files with a case number, summary, quantitative information (date, location, number of witnesses...), classifications, all sources mentioning the case with their references, a discussion of the case in order to evaluate its causes, and a history of the changes made to the file. A general index and thematic sub-catalogs give access to these Alsatian case files.

05/02/12 00:30 MULHOUSE (68) Luminous objects move in the Alsatian sky "in combat formation". Numerous witnesses.

Discussion:

Map.

I found no other trace of this case.

It is possible that this is actually a date error, the case then being the one of the previous day. The latter apparently did not have "numerous witnesses" but was also given as having occurred at 00:30 a.m.

Otherwise, if this is an observation of its own at the given date, it is so poorly documented for the moment that there is not much more to say than: "probably Chinese lanterns again."

Evaluation:

Possible date error, possible Chinese lanterns.
