Case of Singrist, on July 21, 2007:

Case number:

ALSACAT-2007-07-21-SINGRIST-1

Summary:

The SPICA Alsatian ufology association SPICA received and published a report of a sighting on July 27, 2007, in Singrist in the Bas-Rhin.

A 16 year old of this village said that on the night from Friday 20 to Saturday 21 at about 01:47 a.m., northeasterly, the window of his room overlooking a field of vision from the north to the south east, he saw an airliner is a north-northwesterly trajectory. He recognized the airliner by its flashing white light and red light nearby.

When the plane came out of his field of vision, he saw that in the north-east, two lights were twinkling regularly, alternating. When one of the lights was on, the other was off and vice versa. It seemed to him that it lasted one minute.

He no longer believed in simple star when, after a minute, they began to move to the southeast direction, parallel to National Road 4 from his point of view. Their speed was such that he could observe this during what appeared to be a minute, and from the moment they began to move, they continued to flash as before, but this time each "flash" was accompanied by two small "flashes" successive.

Five minutes after watching the phenomenon, he sent a text message to a friend to tell him about what he saw and the friend kept the message. He said he talked about what he saw to his parents later in the morning.

He has no pictures or video, its only device is a mobile phone of insufficient quality.

07/21/2007 Singrist (67)

Hello, my name is (name withheld), 16, and I live in Singrist.

On the night of Friday 20 to Saturday 21, around 1 am 47 north east (my bedroom window overlooks a northern southeast fields of vision) I saw an airliner in a northeast towards North West trajectory (I recognize the airliner by its flashing white light and the red light next to it)

When it got out of my field of vision I realized in northeast direction two lights glittered regularly and alternately (when a light was on, the other is extinguished and vice versa) for what seemed to me a minute. I stopped to thinking that its a simple star by the fact that after a minute they started moving southeast direction (so from my point of view their trajectory was parallel to nationnal road 4 ) .Their speed was such that I could still see it for what seemed to be one minute, and from the time they started moving they continued to flash like before, but this time each "flash" was accompanied by two successive smaller "flash".

I have no evidence such as a movie or multiple photos as my only video / camera is my cell phone, and the quality of the latter is not very good.

However, about 5 minutes after seeing the phenomenon I did send a text message to a friend to tell him about what I saw and he kept the message

In addition, I talked about what I saw to my parents later in the morning

Discussion:

Map.

I do not have a "certain" or "proven" explanation to offer, but the strangeness of what is reported is very low.

This could have been, for example, two distant helicopters flying together with flashing lights.

Note: The Strasbourg - Entzheim airport is 22 kilometers in the Southeast of the observation place.

Evaluation:

Unidentified, no strangeness.
