ALSACAT:

ALSACAT is my comprehensive catalog of UFO sighting reports in Alsace, the region is the North-East of France, whether they are "explained" or "unexplained".

The ALSACAT catalog is made of case files with a case number, summary, quantitative information (date, location, number of witnesses...), classifications, all sources mentioning the case with their references, a discussion of the case in order to evaluate its causes, and a history of the changes made to the file. A general index and thematic sub-catalogs give access to these Alsatian case files.

Summary:

Following the testimony of four young people of Bischwiller, in the newspaper Les Dernières Nouvelles d'Alsace, about their observation on June 22, 1976, at 10:15 p.m. of a UFO over Oberhoffen-sur-Moder, the Bischwiller gendarmerie opened an investigation.

The newspaper reported that the Gendarmerie indicated that a similar object was sighted at the same time and in the same direction by an inhabitant of Kilstett, among others.

A UFO over Oberhoffen-sur-Moder?

Bischwiller. -- Following the testimony of four young people from Bischwiller, who claimed to have seen on Tuesday, June 22 at 10:15 p.m. a UFO over Oberhoffen-sur-Moder, the Bischwiller gendarmerie opened an investigation. According to these young people, the red-orange object appeared above the pumping station of the society of southern European pipelines. It was moving very slowly at first, then reportedly suddenly disappeared towards the Black Forest.

The police also reported that a similar object had been seen at the same time and in the same direction by a resident of Kilstett and an inhabitant of Herrlisheim.

Around 10:15 p.m., 4 young people saw an orange-red object above the pumping station of the Société des Pipelines sud-européenne. Moving slowly at first, it quickly disappeared towards the Black Forest. The gendarmerie reported that a similar object would have been seen at the same time and in the same direction by a resident of Kilstett and another of Herrlisheim.

Tuesday, June 22, around 10:15 p.m. (UT: 8:15 p.m.), four young people saw above the pumping station of the South European Pipelines Company in Oberhoffen sur Moder (67) a red-orange object. Moving slowly at first, it quickly disappeared towards the Black Forest. The gendarmerie reported that a similar object would have been seen at the same time and in the same direction by a resident of Kilstett and another from Herrlisheim.
