The local weekly newspaper Le Journal de la Presqu'Ile et l'Indépendant Réunis, from Guérande, dated October 10, 1954, reported that "on Sunday," that is October 3, 1954, there were "flying saucers" in the sky over the Guérande peninsula.
It was reported that a female resident of Le Pouliguen made an observation "similar" to that of residents of Saillé, who reportedly saw in the evening "an elongated object emitting a very bright light."

Several people from Saillé reportedly observed, in the direction of Le Croisic, on Sunday evening, an elongated object emitting a very bright light.
A similar sighting was reportedly made by a woman from Le Pouliguen.
