The regional newspaper Le Méridional for October 1, 1954, reported that "Wednesday", therefore on September 29, 1954, around 6:30 p.m., numerous witnesses of Apt had seen a flying disc in the sky.

For a few days, testimonies of people claiming to have seen mysterious luminous objects in the sky have arrived from all the corners of France.
