The regional newspaper Nord-Matin, in the Calais issue of October 21, 1954, reported an observation which seemed to them to confirm that of October 18, 1954 in Audruicq:
A well-known lawyer, member of the Boulogne court in Calais where he is from, was returning home by car, passing through the territory of Bonningues, when near a wood, he saw a huge luminous object of about thirty meters in diameter fly over him.
Worried, he suddenly stopped, turned off his headlights, locked his door and went to seek shelter in the woods.
The craft stayed in the same place for a few seconds, then finally "went away at a dizzying pace."
The newspaper specified that the lawyer did not report this immediately.
[Ref. nmn1:] NEWSPAPER "NORD-MATIN":
We reported that a flying saucer or supposed such, had been seen in the sky of Audruicq, by two Northerners of Naves and Sailly-en-Cambrésis who headed with their families to Audruicq.
This vision seems to have been confirmed by the testimony which has been brought back to us from a well-known member of the Boulogne courtr in Calais, of which he is native.
He was returning and was on the territory of Bonningues, in a car when, near a wood, a huge luminous machine about thirty meters in diameter flew over him.
Somewhat worried, the motorist stopped short, turned off his headlights, closed his door... with the key and went to take shelter in the wood.
The craft stayed in the same place for a few seconds, then finally left at a dizzying pace.
The lawyer made no immediate statement. The fact remains that his testimony seems to confirm that of the two Northerners.
Probably the 08:45 p.m. meteor.
