The regional newspaper La Liberté du Morbihan for November 14, 1954, reported that several people from Hillion had seen a luminous object in the sky, heading northwest. "The object or phenomenon was surrounded by a very bright light that lit up the entire sky," the newspaper added, specifying that the thing had disappeared "after about ten minutes."

St-Brieuc. Several people from Hillion (Côtes-du-Nord) saw in the sky a luminous craft moving in the north-west direction. The craft or phenomenon was surrounded by a very bright light that lit up the entire sky.
It disappeared after about ten minutes.

The newspaper gave neither date nor time; my date of November 13, 1954, is therefore simply a probable date.
Overall, I'm inclined to think the thing was a meteor; but if the "disappearance" after 10 minutes is reliable data, it wouldn't be a meteor.
I therefore leave the case with the "insufficient data" qualification for the moment.
