Reference number for this case: 12-Aug-54-Précy-sous-Thil. Thank you for including this reference number in any correspondence with me regarding this case.

Summary:

In 1968, ufologist Jacques Vallée indicated that on August 12, 1954, at "Précy-sur-Thil" (actually Précy-sous-Thil) in the department of Côte-d'Or, a brilliant moving by jerks and letting appear a trail was seen.

Vallée indicated no source, and I found nothing else about this for now.

Reports:

[Ref. jve1:] JACQUES VALLEE:

[Ref. uda1:] "UFODNA" WEBSITE:

The website indicates that on 12 August 1954 at 16:30 in Precy-sous-Thil, France, "Shiny UFO moves in sudden jerks. Leaves vapor trail."

And: "An unidentified object was sighted, but with appearance and behavior that most likely would have a conventional explanation. One shiny disc was observed by three witnesses for five minutes."

The sources are indicated as "Vallee, Jacques, Computerized Catalog (N = 3073); Vallee, Jacques, Challenge to Science: The UFO Enigma, Henry Regnery, Chicago, 1966; Hatch, Larry, *U* computer database, Author, Redwood City, 2002".

This database recorded the case twice:

Case Nr. New case Nr. Investigator Date of observation Zip Place of observation Country of observation Hour of observation Classification Comments Identification

19540812 12.08.1954 Precy Thil France 16.30

Explanations:

Not looked for yet. Plane? Distorted meteor report?

Jacques Vallée writes "Précy-sur-Thil" but it is Précy-sous-Thil. The hour given by [uda1] is likely completely invented.
