SILLY DISC BUSINESS

ALBUQUERQUE -- I very carefully scanned your Albuquerque Journal on the morning of Saturday, July 12, with expectant hopes of discovering one article. I can say that my work was not in vain. One page four at the bottom of the fourth column with the headline "See Two Discs" was a small article of seven and one-half lines which informed me that I has seen two discs. If those were discs then I'm the man from Mars.

On the evening of the said incident I and four other presumably sound and sane Americans were traveling along North Second street on our way to Juan Taboo Recreation area in the foothills of the Sandia Mountains. We sighted them and were jokingly telling each other that now we could say we had seen them.

As we came closer to the supposed discs it was easily discovered that they were airplanes. Upon closer investigation the "discs" turned out to be two very shiny Army advanced trainers. I imagine I am now on the honor role of those seeing "discs." "The Wacky Whirlers" or maybe "The Silly Saucerors."

I feel that this disc business is all very childish and silly.
