CHILEAN AIR FORCE COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR WELCOMES UFO RESEARCHERS:

On February 26, 2001, because of all the new items which have emerged in regard to the declassification of documents held by the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) in which Chilean UFO sightings are mentioned, the Director of Communications of the Chilean Air Force invited Cristian Riffo, Director of Ovnivision-Chile to hold a meeting to analyze the content of the documents which were made known and in which FACH personnel is mentioned.

During the meeting, researchers will deliver a letter addressed to Patricio Rios, the FACH's Commander in Chief, in which they request an answer to the questions raised by the subject. Attached to the letter is a list of cases in which Chilean Air Force pilots are involved. Foremost among them is a case involving Hernan Gabrielli, the current Chief of Staff.

MORE UFOs REPORTED IN SAENZ PENA, ARGENTINA:

It has become a tradition in Oro Blanco to wait for the flying object's passing, resembling a large luminous ball flying at low altitude and speed, making movements which are not typical of aircraft or other known vehicles. These characteristics arise from the testimony of locals who have been frequent witnesses to the passage of the UFOs and whose stories have appeared in newspapers. See 02.11.2001, alleged UFO Causes Stir in Saenz Pena, Argentina.

DARK ROUND UFO HOVERS OVER RAWANG, MALAYSIA:

Malaysia's UFO flap entered its fourth week with the sighting of a dark round UFO over a street in Rawang.

On Friday, February 16, 2001, at 6:51 a.m., student Owen K. was walking from his apartment to the college campus in Rawang, Sealngor, Gombak province, Malaysia when he spotted the silent hovering UFO. He reported, "I don't really believe in UFOs but now I have seen it with a pair of my own eyes, and I believe now."

"This morning I woke up and traveled to college. Going up a dark road, I saw that an object was trying to land. It was lit up with a lot of lights. A moment later, the object had just disappeared into void and it was gone in a second. When I looked again, it was gone."

"It was a dark object, round in shape, with many lights. For sure, it was not an aircraft or an airplane" because "a plane is always moving and it cannot stay in the air without moving."

SCOTLAND UFO EVENT:

On 15 February 2001 several school children became ill after seeing strange object in sky, and a white powder fell onto them. Apparently the school was closed the following day. It was reported on BBC Radio 5 Live.

IRISH POSSIBLE UFO CRASH:

There was a possible UFO crash on the Irish border on Tuesday, 13 February, 2001.

An object was seen trailing smoke, and then was seen to smash into the side of a mountain. Emergency services & mountain rescue teams were alerted. The event was apparently reported in Irish Times newspaper.

ALLEGED UFO CAUSES STIR IN SAENZ PENA:

The newspaper Diario Norte de Chaco, Argentina, published on Sunday, February 11, 2001 a report on a what older residents call a "strange light phenomenon", but younger ones straightforwardly classify as a UFO. At least 10 residents of the city's Oro Blanco sector agree that for the past four days, between midnight and 1 a.m., luminous, boldly-colored objects with movement that do not correspond to those of a satellite or airplane, nor any other commonly sighted object have been flying over the area at low altitude.

An older woman living on Calle 19 in Oro Blanco claims having seen them since last Tuesday or Wednesday, and the last time others saw the light was on Friday. People are now meeting every night at the same time on this city block in order to see the lights and try to figure out what is happening. Skeptics were also invited to join in, so they could see with their own eyes.

Witness Rodolfo Acosa, described what he claims to have seen on Friday:

"It flew very low, didn't come from a high elevation, looked like a large star but at low altitude; it became larger later on. It appeared from the south and headed northward... it then began to rise until it became smaller, as if suddenly going upward and becoming a tiny little star."

On Thursday, residents claimed having seen something similar to what would be seen the following day, but traveling in the opposite direction. Another witness stated:

"It was about 12:45 am, and it travelled from east to west. It looked like a luminous ball, much larger than a star and flying at low altitude"

They further remarked that it could not be an airplane since they were familiar with airplane flight times, and these lights were perfectly distinguishable from aircraft. "But aside from its displacement, it appeared to move up and down," noted another neighbor in an effort to establish differences with an aircraft's trajectory as it moves across the sky.

Residents of Oro Blanco took advantage of the ready presence of a local expert, Mr. Galvan, who works at the airport control tower, and he told them, according to the locals, that people had been calling the airport and reporting the same phenomenon for several nights.

A resident surnamed Acosta explained:

"They say it is a research satellite or something like it, but what happens is that it doesn't always keep to its orbit. One day its going in one direction and the next day its heading in another. It appears with a 20 to 25 minute difference, more or less, and it is also extremely shiny."

The 21st sighting surrounds a Wirksworth couple who saw a large blue light with an orange tail which shot across the sky. The event has been reported by The Matlock Mercury for February 15, 2001.

"At first I thought it was a plane crashing. It is the funniest thing I have ever seen. It had an orange glowing tail out the back of it. But it was far too fast for a plane. My friend also saw it. He going from Alfreton to Tansley and stopped his car to look."

600 UFO SIGHTING REPORTS IN ILLINOIS:

The WREX Channel 13 Television in Rockford, USA, and other news media reported that they had received some 600 reports of UFOs over this city in Northern Illinois around 9:00 PM on January 11, 2001. As many as twelve lights or UFOs were reported conducting maneuvers over the city. Some reports of computer and electrical shutdowns coincided with the reports. Later that night on all three of the news stations in Rockford reported the sightings.
