(CASE #13. - Continued). It then moved at a high speed in direction of south-west, to reappear little of time afterwards on the coast. One moment later it disappeared suddenly, giving the impression to be dissimulated behind some cloud. It was not seen again. Mr. López indicated that in addition to their family, other neighbors also saw the phenomenon. Once the object had disappeared, Mr. López went to the Police station to report his observation and there, he was informed by an Agent that the latterhad also made a similar observation, two hours earlier, but had said any nothing for fear of the ridicule. CASE #14. - May 1956. - DEPARTMENT OF PAYSANDU. (Information that the witness forwarded to CIOVI).- His account was as follows: One Saturday afternoon of May 1956, towards 03:30 p.m., I was on the ways of the Department of Paysandú in my car and in company of my parents. I was going back home and this was the raison why I was in this area. Arrived at the place called "THE WATCHTOWER" ["EL MIRADOR"] and while taking an alley towards the north, at a certain time, while looking up, I noticed, under an enormous light gray cloud, a circle of leaded gray color, darker, obviously, than the cloud. I exclaimed: "What is that?" while pointing it to my spouse and to my son. Immediately I stopped the car and we bent to observe it. The sky was scattered with many very large accumulated clouds, which were pushed by the wind from west to east. In front of us, at a distance of 3.500 meters in the north and some 4.000 meters of height, there was one of these clouds, and, like hanging under it, stopped in space, we saw a circle in the shape of "O" showing itself to us like a circle of one meter in diameter. In the first moments I supposed for one minute that it was a whirlwind, but then, the disc changed position and put itself to the hrizontal, started a course of exploration under the clouds and in direction of the north at a high speed and flying in a elliptic course. By following the curve of the ellipse, from left to right, the disc banked on its side, like planes do when they fly in a tight curve, and this allowed to noctice at this time, that in the higher part of the disc there was some sort of cockpit, located in its center. Its general shape was that of two plates stuck by their edges. The apparatus, after having carried out the maneuver that I have just described, turned over again under the cloud who was in front of us us, stopped there a few seconds, then took a vertical position, as we had seen at the beginning (with the shape of "O") and it then rose while being dissimulated in the cloud. We remained in observation of this cloud, which was pushed by the wind, until it gave us back the sight to where the apparatus was to be, but it must have been hidden in the center of the cloud because we saw it no more." - Signed: José A. Tettamanti Note: At the time of the investigation into the case, the witness stated that the diameter of the disc was to be some 50 meters. It did not make any noise while moving and its surface did not show any detail. |

(CASO No 13.-Cont.). Luego se dirigió a gran velocidad en dirección sur-oeste, para reaparecer al poco rato sobre la costa. Momentos después desaparecía súbitamente dando la impresión de haberse ocultado tras alguna nube. Posteriormente no se le pudo ver más. El Sr. López indicó que además de su familia, también vieron el fenómeno, otros vecinos. Una vez que el objeto desapareció, el Sr.López se trasladó a la Comisaría a dar cuenta de la observación y allí fué informado por un Agente que él también había hecho una observación igual, dos horas antes, pero que no había dicho nada por temor a hacer el ridículo. CASO No 14. - Mayo de 1956. - DEP. PAYSANDU. (Información que el testigo hizo llegar a CIOVI).- Su relato fué el siguiente: In sábado por la tarde del mes de mayo de 1956, siendo las 15.30 recorría los caminos del Dep. de Paysandú, en mi automóvil y en compañía de mis familiares. Soy aficionado a la casa y tal era el motivo de estar en esa zona. Llegado al paraje denominado "EL MIRADOR" y tomando un callejón hacia el norte, en determinado momento, al alzar la vista noté, debajo de una enorme nube gris clara, un círculo de color gris plomizo, más oscuro, por supuesto, que la nube. Exclamé: ¿Qué es aquello? dirigidoa mi esposa e hijo. De inmediato detuve el coche y nos bajamos a contemplar. El cielo estaba salpicado de tanto en tanto con grandes nubes cúmulos, las cucles eran impulsadas por el viento de oeste a este. Frente nuestro, a una distancia de 3.500 metros al norte y unos 4.000 mts. de altura se encontraba una de estas nubes y como colgando de ella, detenido en el espacio, veíamos un círculo en forma de "O" representado a nuestra vista como un círculo de un metro de diámetro. En los primeros instantes supuse que era un remolino, pero transcurrido un minuto, el disco cambió de posición colocándose horizontal e inició un recorrido de exploración por debajo de las nubes y en dirección al norte a gran velocidad y describiendo una elipse. Al dar la curva de la elipse, de izquierda a derecha, el disco se inclinó hacia este lado, tal como lo hacen los aviones al dar una curva cerrada, permitiendo notar en ese momento, que en la parte superior del mismo existía una especie de cabina, ubicada en el centro. Su forma general era la de dos platos unidos por los bordes. El aparato, luego de efectuar la maniobra que acabo de describir, volvió de nuevo debajo de la nube que se encontraba enfrente nuestro, deteniéndose allí unos segundos, luego se puso en forma vertical, como lo habíamos visto al principio (con la forma de "O") y entonces ascendió ocultándose en la nube. Quedamos contemplando dicha nube, que era empujaóa por el viento, hasta que nos dió la vista y el aparato siguió oculto en ella porque no lo vimos más.-" Firmado: José A. Tettamanti Nota: Durante la investigación del caso, el testigo manifestó que el diámetro del disco debía ser de unos 50 metros. No hacía ningún ruido al desplazarse y su superficie no mostraba detalle alguno. |
