At about 20:00 on 12 or 13 September 1953, it was observed from PW Corp [blacked out] in Rostov that a fiery gleam moved from north-northeast to south-southeast 5 km west of the [unreadable] at a constant altitude of 1.000 to 1.500 meters and a constant speed. The weather was clear and cloudless. The gleam of fire was yellowish red in front and became dark red to the rear, but its shape did not change to the rear. No smoke trail was observed nor were sounds heard. The gleam was observed for about 3 seconds during which it covered a distance of about 1.250 meters. This was not confused with an aircraft because no air activity was conducted during the period of observation.
Field comment. The information confirms previous observations of unidentified flying objects in the Bakhty/Rostov area.
