Official, France:

In France, there is still no equivalent of the Freedom of Information Acts (FOIA) as it is now applied to some official UFO information in the majority of other countries, USA, United Kingdom, Spain, Italy etc. In France, and only in theory, information is supposedly possibly accessible 60 years after its date. (Thus 2014 for UFO cases of 1954 etc). It is only if you are "Somebody of Importance" such as TV journalist Jean-Claude Bourret in the 70's, or if you have "Friends Inside", or if you beg enough, that you can maybe pick up some documents.

Witnesses report to the Gendarmerie, case of Gondrecourt-le-Château, May 26, 1975:

This document was reproduced in the ufological publicly litterature long ago.

Case of Gondrecourt-le-Château.

[Administrative information relating to the Gendarmerie brigade which investigated this case.]

Atmospheric conditions at the time of the observation:

At 09:15 p.m., the night had fallen, the sky was clear, there were no clouds and the moonlight made it possible to distinguish the crest line.

The observation took place Monday May 26, 1975 at 09:15 p.m. The witnesses are sure of the hour, having left Gondrecourt-le-Château at 09:10 p.m.. The facts occurred on the territory of the community of Amanty, in the west of this locality and the east of Gondrecourt-le-Château.

[Witnesses names; three women.]

These three people circulated in a motor vehicle in the direction from Gondrecourt-le-Château (Meuse) - to Neufchâteau (the Vosges). Whereas they were approximately at the kilometric point 51 000 of the CD 966 [Departmental minor road], they saw arriving to their right an object which moved perpendicularly to the roadway. It was at approximately 15 meters of altitude, at a distance from 100 to 150 meters of the car.

The unidentified object suddenly turned to the left by forming an angle of 100° approximately. At the time of its first trajectory, it moved in the Liffol-le-Grand (the Vosges) - Vaucouleurs (Meuse) axis, then, after having turned in the axis Neufchâteau - Bar-le-Duc, after having changed direction, it approached the ground. It moved without any noise. All was totally quiet.

This machine had a circular shape of approximately 4 meters in diameter. At the time of the first observation, it was enlightened with two lights. The first, red, which was fixed, and the second, orange, which flickered. At the time when the machine turned, the observers noted that it was enlightened by about fifteen red and yellow orange lights, alternated, according to them, with yellow and white. These lights were powerful and of a diameter of approximately 15 centimeters.

This machine seemed to have landed at the edge of the wood, from where a yellow gleam rose. The observers were in an appreciably flat area; the ground declivity varies by 15 meters in this area. The UFO emerged of the national forest of Vaux. It would have landed at the edge of the wood of Amainville. No road is located on the trajectory followed by the machine nor in a direction parallel with this one.

After examination of the places indicated by the observers, no traces were found at the site where the UFO could have landed.
