ABOUT 1990, EAST BRIDGEWATER, MASSACHUSETTS, USA, SOMEONE:

Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

Because the area, East Bridgewater, Massachusetts, USA, has the reputation to be a hot spot for strange encounters and UFO sightings, a local ufologist compiled emails that local people sent him for reporting the occurrences that puzzled them.

One sender daid he/she traveled Elm Street a lot, usually at night, and never saw anything more than a few glowing eyes on the side of the road from animals, but however saw something interesting on Route 138.

He or she was traveling with his/her father to the dog track, heading south on 138 from Route 106, when at a few hundred yards before the track, on the right side of the road leaning, up against a guardrail, they saw a rather odd looking man.

His clothes were old looking, dirty and dusty, his skin was pale gray and the detail that sood out most were his hair, very dry looking, thin and brittle, sticking off from the sides of his head in a strange manner.

They walked on to the dog track, realized there was no matinee that day, turned around, headed back towards 106, speaking about the odd man, but when they were back by the spot, he was gone.

As it was only minutes later, he could not have possible walked in either direction and made it anywhere, so unless someone picked him up, which the witness doubts by the way he looked, he must have slipped back into the swamp where he looked like he came from.

[Ref. cp1:] CHRISTOPHER W. PITTMANN:

The Massachusetts ufologist indicates that he received an e-mail from an East Bridgewater resident about an incident that occurred around 1990.

He publishes this email. The sender says he travels Elm Street a lot, usually at night, and never saw anything more than a few glowing eyes on the side of the road from animals, but however saw something interesting on Route 138.

[Ref. ar1:] ALBERT ROSALES:

Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that East Bridgewater, Massachusetts, on 1990, at night, the witness was traveling on Route 138 with his dad on the way to the dog track when a few hundred yards before the track on the right side of the road leaning up against a guardrail they saw a rather odd looking man. His clothes were old looking, dirty and dusty. His skin was pale gray. The detail that stood out the most was his hair, very dry looking, and thin and brittle, sticking out from the sides of his head in a strange manner. They arrived at the dog track and realized that there was no matinee that day so they turned around and headed back to the spot where they had seen the odd man, but he was gone. It had only been minutes later so he couldn't have possibly walked in either direction and made it anywhere.

Albert Rosales indicates that the source is UFO Massachusetts, Bridgewater Triangle Reports.

Points to consider:

The area dubbed the "Bridgewater Triangle" centers around a large swamp and extends from Abington south to Freetown, west to Rehoboth and northeast back to Abington. It includes Brockton, Easton, the Bridgewaters, Raynham and Taunton, many of which are part of the Hockomock Swamp area. The place is allegedly host to many weird occurrences and strange encounters. Most people in the area shrug off such accounts. State environmental officials have logged no reports of unusual activity there since the swamp was made a wildlife management area in 1990.

It is obvious that the person who reported the encounter described a man, oddly dressed and with strange hair, incongruous perhaps, but by no means a UFO occupant nor a paranormal cretaure.
