Italian ufology sources indicate that on December 7, 1978, at 11:45 p.m., Alfonso Marinelli was driving his new Mercedes car in the Navelli area when it unexpectedly failed.
After pulling off, he saw two lights that seemed to approach him. When they were at 10 or 15 meters from him, he began to distinguish human shapes: two "little men" wearing something like silver-colored astronauts suits, very phosphorescent, and large helmets with a visor at the front.
The two beings had luminous beacons on the chest that seemed interlocked in straps wrapped on their shoulders. They were 0.8 or 0.9 meters tall.
They were flying in vertical position, and in a few minutes they passed near his car. Then, they reverted their route and returned where they had come from.
Marinelli reported there was no noise of engine of propellers.
Completely upset, he eventually resumed his travel.
Marinelli heard no noise of engine or propellers.

Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Navelli, Abruzzi, Italy, on December 12, 1978, at 2345, Alfonso Marinelli was traveling in his new Mercedez near Navelli when his engine suddenly quit. The witness then noted two bright lights approaching slowly in his direction. As the light approached the witness was able to make out two short human like figures. The figures wore silvery suits, resembling that of astronauts. The suits were fluorescent, and both figures wore huge oval shaped helmets. The front of the helmets had black rectangular shaped visors. In the chest area the figures had what appeared to be straps with a bright round light on the center. The figures then rose to about 90 cm in a vertical movement and in a few minutes flew over the witness vehicle, quickly disappearing from sight. Soon Marinelli was able to start his engine and drove away from the area.
