OCTOBER 1978, TBILISI, TBILISI, GEORGIA, A.I. NIKOLAV AND THREE OTHERS:

Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

Two different versions of the story are available to me:

The first version is that according to British ufologists Nigel Blundell and Roger Boar in a 1995 book, one Dr. A.I. Nikolaev, respected History professor, had to be hospitalized for three months to recover from his close encounter.

In 1978, with three of his colleagues, he was on holiday, camping in the south of Russia, when they discovered an object in the shape of a disc, metallic, partially hidden in high grasses.

One of the four people threw some stones towards the object, and the stones seemed to disappear into the machine.

All the four then felt under the influence of a strange force. Nicolaev lost consciousness, the others, although they were staggering and weak, carried him away the best they could.

While two colleagues remained with the unconscious man, the third left to search for help. The two friends remained in sentinel, fell asleep, as by enchantment. When they woke up there were two small silhouettes, less than one meter tall, in astronauts outfits and capped with helmets. Seeing that the two men woke up, the two figures hurried towards their machine.

The object shone like fire while disappearing in the sky.

The second version is that according to "UFOzone", Russia, near Tbilisi, Georgia, in October 1978, late in the afternoon, a group of geologists working in an isolated field came upon a metallic disc-shaped object sitting on the ground.

The group of geologists began to approach, but when they reached an area within 12 meters of the object, they began to experience very unpleasant feelings of fear and oppression. 6 meters further, the group experienced paralysis of the extremities.

They stopped, and began to throw stones at the object. The stones soundlessly seem to pass through the "skin" of the object, or perhaps were soundlessly destroyed within the boundary of the object.

Then, connecting several thin sticks, the geologists attempted to touch the object. The stick or rod entered into the object freely as into water. When they took it out, it proved to be shorter than when it first went in.

One of the geologists, in a desperate act, jumped towards the side of the craft and immediately lost consciousness.

A few minutes later, from out of the woods, a 2 meters tall figure appeared and walked towards the object, totally ignoring the group, it then entered the object. After seven minutes, the object took off. At this point, the man who had lost consciousness recovered consciousness.

[Ref. ar1:] ALBERT ROSALES:

Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that near Tbilisi, Georgia (Russia), in October 1978, late in the afternoon, a group of geologists working in an isolated field came upon a metallic disc-shaped object sitting on the ground. The group of geologists began to approach, however when they reached an area within 12 meters of the object they began to experience very unpleasant feelings: fear, oppression. At 6 meters further the group experienced paralysis of the extremities. They stopped and began to throw stones at the object. They soundlessly passed through the "skin" of the object (apparently) or perhaps soundlessly were destroyed within the boundary of the object. Then after, connecting several thin sticks, they attempted to touch the object. The stick or rod entered into the object freely as into water, when they took it out it proved to be shorter than when it first went in. One of the geologists, in a desperate act jumped towards the side of the craft and immediately lost consciousness. A few minutes later, from out of the woods a 2-meter tall figure appeared and walked towards the object, totally ignoring the group, it then entered the object. After seven minutes the object took off. At this point the man that had lost consciousness came to.

Albert Rosales indicates that the source is "UFOZONE Russia."

Points to consider:

What can be said when obviously contradictory reports are available? One thing only: it is a dubious report.

Georgia, now an independent country, was "South of Russia" at the time of the USSR.

As regards occupant or occupants, it is possible that a mistranslation is the cause of the contradiction between 1 occupant of 2 meters and 2 occupants of 1 meter, but it is not obvious since we are told it was "less" than 1 meter.
