OCTOBER 12, 1978, FAMAILLA, TUCUMAN, ARGENTINA, WORKMEN:

Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

The newspaper La Razon, Buenos Aires, for October 13, 1978, reported that on October 12, 1978, in an agricultural establishment located at 40 km in the south-west of the city of Famailla, State of Tucuman, Argentina, a UFO descended, occupied by several humanoids of small sizes, from which two went out of the craft.

The witnesses appear to be some 30 workers of the Department of Irrigation of the Province, who were in duty in this place of very difficult access due to its topography and vegetation.

When the workers tried to approach the UFO, the occupants were quickly went inside it and the craft took off fast, being lost between the mountains. It is said clear traces of the UFO remained on the location.

In an agricultural establishment located at 40 km in the south-west of this city, a UFO descended, occupied by several humanoids of small sizes, from which two went out of the craft. The website indicates that on October 12, 1978, in Famailla, Argentina, there was a close encounter with a an unidentified craft and its occupants at close range by a male witness.

The sources are indicated as Webb, David, HUMCAT: Catalogue of Humanoid Reports; Farish, Lucius, UFO Newsclipping Service, UFO Newspaper Clipping Service, Plumerville.

Points to consider:

Source [ce1], edited by Roberto Banchs, specifies which listed cases are investiagted cases, and this one, coming from the newspaper La Razon, was not then, and apparently not since then either, which is regretable.

There are indeed somehow similar cases in Argentina, with large number of witnesses, where and investigation did show it was a mistake, due to night and distance; perhaps this is the case here too, perhaps it isn't. The summary does not specify if it happened in the night and does not specify any sighting distances.
