Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

An Italian ufology bulletin reportedly indicated in 1988 that in Cosenza, Italy, on September 21, 1978, at 08:00 p.m., a young man walking near a field suddenly saw the area illuminated by a bright light, and he could no longer see his surroundings.

Up on a nearby hill, he saw an oval shaped object resting on the ground, and a human-like figure with two antennae-like protrusions on his head, standing by the object.

Frightened, he ran away, but fell as four humanoids approached apparently in bizarre bounding like movements.

He fainted, and when he woke up, he saw four 5-foot-tall entities wearing buttoned jackets, a backpack and helmets with antennae. Their hands appeared pincer-like. He fainted again, woke up later, and everything had vanished.

John Schuessler indicates that on 1978/09/21, in Italy, in Cosenza, at 2000, a young man walking near a yard encountered a bright object and was blinded by its brightness. When he tried to run away, he fell and fainted. When he came to he was surrounded by little beings with claw-like hands. He fainted again and when he awoke the object and beings were both gone.

John Schuessler indicates that source is Italian UFO Report, No. 7, July 1988.

Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Cosenza, Italy, on September 21, 1978, at 2000, a young man walking near a field suddenly saw the area illuminated by a bright light and could no longer see his surroundings. Up on a nearby hill he saw an oval shaped object resting on the ground. A human like figure with two antennae like protrusions on his head, stood by the object. The website indicates that on September 21, 1978, at 19:40 in Cosenza, Italy, a witness was paralyzed. There were four 5' tall humanoids, with antennas on helmets. The power went out. An object was observed. Electromagnetic and physiological effects were noted. One object was observed by one male witness at an excavation for 50 minutes.
