Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

Ruben Manrique apparently reported that near Xalostoc, Jalisco, Mexico, on July 18, 1978, at night, a couple named Goytortua were traveling on the Jalisco Road when they encountered a huge red light hovering over the road.

Three bizarre "amorphous", "almost globular", entities exited the object, strood in front of the vehicle emitting an extremely foul and nauseating odor.

The driver attempted to put the car in reverse as his wife screamed in terror next to him but the vehicle would not respond.

As the creatures approached the vehicle, the temperature fell to almost below zero level.

The creatures apparently wanted the witnesses to exit the car but they stayed inside. The creature finally re-entered the craft, which shot away at high speed.

Both witnesses suffered from "a classic case of radiation poisoning" and also suffered nightmares, and found strange red marks on their bodies.

Albert Rosales indicates that the source is "Ruben Manrique."

Narratives:

[Ref. ar1:] ALBERT ROSALES:

Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that near Xalostoc, Jalisco, Mexico, on July 18, 1978, at night, a couple named Goytortua were traveling on the Jalisco Road when they encountered a huge red light hovering over the road. Three bizarre "amorphous" entities exited the object. These were described as almost globular in nature. The creatures stood in front of the vehicle emitting an extremely foul and nauseating odor. The driver attempted to put the car in reverse as his wife screamed in terror next to him but the vehicle would not respond. As the creatures approached the vehicle the temperature fell to almost below zero level. The creatures apparently wanted the witnesses to exit the car but these stayed inside. They finally re-entered the craft, which shot away at high speed. Both witnesses suffered from a classic case of radiation poisoning and also suffered from nightmares and found strange red marks on their bodies.

Albert Rosales indicates that the source is "Ruben Manrique."

[Ref. ud1:] "UFODNA" WEBSITE:

The website says that on 18 July 1978 at 21:00 in Xalostoc, Jalisco, Mexico, "A couple named Goytortua were traveling on the Jalisco Road when they encountered a huge red light hovering over the road. Both witnesses suffered from a classic case of radiation poisoning and also suffered from nightmares and found strange red marks on their bodies."

The source indication is a broken link.

Points to consider:

The name "Goytortua" may look "made up" to some, but it is a real, existing name.

It is quite annoying here - in addition to what appears in the List of issues below - that it seems there is no other mention of this case in any other ufology source I could explore. It looks like the only trace of the case would Manrique communicating it directly to Albert Rosales and nobody else.

One will notice how [ud1], as often, changes the indication "in the night" to an unjustified "21:00".
