DECEMBER 28, 1968, GOULBURN, NEW-SOUTH-WALES, AUSTRALIA, A MAN:

Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

The story seems to have appeared in a national newspaper a month after the event and was allegedly investigated by UFOIC ufologist Dr. Miran Lindtner and Dr. D. Herbison-Evans, an astronomer of the Department of Physics of the University of Sydney.

An anonymous man of Goulburn, New-South-Wales, in Australia, apparently stated that around 1958, he was fox-hunting near Goulburn when he shot "something that emitted a terrible noise", there was a flash and "something" shining hurt his arm. The burn took a year to heal, and grew to take the shape of planet Saturn, a sphere surrounded by a ring.

The man stated that at the same place, on December 28, 1968, he was hunting, when he saw a craft of approximately forty feet in diameter and ten feet in height. He said that whereas he approached that craft, a being came out from behind the craft and walked round it to come to meet him. The being was human-sized humanoid, with a youthful face and long hair, and silver colored shoes. He talked in English during some three minutes to the witness, saying he come from Saturn. He then ran towards his craft which rose about fifteen feet above the ground, remained hovering a while and left. The witness claimed to have taken four photographs of the machine before it went.

It does not seem that the photographs were ever seen or the alleged wound ever witnessed, nor that an investigation report is available, and we are left with one more typical "contactee" story.

Narratives:

[Ref. bc1:] BRUCE CATHIE:

In his 1971 book, the pilot, UFO witness and ufologist Bruce Cathie reported that the late Dr. Miran Lindtner, president of the Unidentified Flying Objects Investigation Center in Sydney, and Dr. D. Herbison-Evans, an astronomer of the Department of Physics of the University of Sydney, investigated into the statements of a resident of Goulburn, New-South-Wales, in Australia, who had stated that on December 28, 1968, he talked to a being who came from Saturn, whom he met whereas he was with hunting in the vicinity of Goulburn.

The man declared that ten years before, he had already lived an exactly identical adventure at the same place whereas he was fox-hunting. As of this first encounter, Bruce Cathie indicates that Dr. Lindtner had noted:

"He said to have shot at it and hit something that emitted a terrible noise. Then there was a flash and something shining - we are not told know what it was - pierced the sleeve of his jacket and made a small mark on his arm. The burn itself took a year to heal, but the mark had initially grown, so that it now measured two inches and a half by three inches. It reproduced exactly the shape of planet Saturn: a sphere surrounded by a ring."

At the time of the second encounter, the man stated to have seen a craft of approximately forty feet in diameter and ten feet in height. Whereas he approached it, a being came out of behind the craft and walked round it to come to meet him. The being is described as a humanoid roughly five feet and a half tall, with a youthful face and long hair, with silver colored shoes. The man said he talked in English during perhaps three minutes with this being which declared to come from Saturn.

The being then ran towards his machine which rose about fifteen feet above the ground, remained hovering a while and left. The witness stated to have taken four photographs of the machine before it was lost of sight.

[Ref. ar1:] ALBERT ROSALES:

Albert Rosales indicates that in Goulburne, New South Wales, Australia, on December 28, 1968, at an unknown hour, a witness who had been in the area back in 1950 and at that time had experienced a peculiar incident which left him with a scar, returned to the site and saw a craft of 40 feet in diameter and of 10 feet in height. He met its occupant who walked around the side of the object. He was of appearance human with long hair, about 5 feet 6 inches tall and wearing silver colored shoes. The witness spoke with this humanoid in English for about 3 minutes and learned he was from Saturn. The man from Saturn seemed to be in a hurry to get away, he boarded the craft which rose to 15 feet off the ground, hovered momentarily, moved off and disappeared. Albert Rosales indicates that his source is Dr. N. Lindtner, of the UFO Investigation Center, Sydney.

[Ref. kb1:] KEITH BASKERFIELD:

Australian ufologist Keith Baskerfield indicates in his catalog that on December 28, 1968, in Goulburn, New South Wales, a craft of 12 meters in diameter and 3 meters high was seen by a man who approached the craft and saw a being about 1.76 meters tall, with long hair and youngish features, wearing silver colored clothes. The man spoke to the being for three minutes, and the being responded in English, indicating that he came from Saturn. After a while the object left. Baskerfield indicates that his source is the newspaper Sun Herald for January 26, 1969.

Points to consider:

Dr. Miran Lindtner was a director of the UFO Investigation Centre (UFOIC), in Sidney, Australia, after 1958.

The story likely originates of a newspaper article and I found no trace of an investigation report, neither of the alleged photographs. It has all the marks of a tall tale of some self-proclaimed contactee: the visitor is likely originally described as a human being like us, with his long haircut and juvenile face, talking in English, supposed to come from a planet of the solar system - on which no human life form could be resident - and the single, unnamed, probably anonymous witness has a history of "contacts." Why should anyone believe any of this to be true?
