NOVEMBER 17, 1966, COLLEGEVILLE, PENNSYLVANIA, USA, MARGARET MARCHUTE:

Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

Two recent ufological catalogues mention that the NICAP recorded a report indicating that in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, USA, November 17, 1966, at 01:30 a.m., Margaret Marchute saw a luminous object which seemed to be made of polished metal, and was on the ground.

After approximately half an hour, a red flame spouted out upwards from this object, then two very brilliant lights approached it from an unspecified distance, and when these two lights were close to the first object, something like a luminous balloon appeared from the object on the ground, and hovered in the sky.

At this time the witness saw three or four figures moving close to the object on the ground, which pulsated from dim to luminous. The figures are described as being dressed in a shining gold material.

The witness observed this during approximately two hours, then went to bed.

Narratives:

[Ref. ar1:] ALBERT ROSALES:

Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, on November 17, 1966, at 01:30 a.m., Margaret Marchute saw on the ground a luminous object that seemed to be made of polished metal.

After about half an hour, a red flame shot upward from the object; then 2 very bright lights approached it from the distance; when these were near it, something like a luminous balloon sprang up from it and hovered in the air.

At this point she could see 3 or 4 figures moving about the large object on the ground, which was pulsating from dim to bright. They were dressed in a "gold shiny material." She watched for about 2 hours before going to bed.

Albert Rosales indicates that the source is Systems Management Associates Inc., and Nicap.

[Ref. dj1:] DONALD JOHNSON:

Donald Johnson indicates that on November 17, 1966, at 01:30 a.m., Margaret Marchute saw on the ground in Collegeville, Pennsylvania a luminous object that seemed to be made of polished metal. After about half an hour a red flame shot upward from the object, then two very bright lights approached it from the distance. When these were near it something like a luminous balloon sprang up from it and hovered in the air. At this point she could see 3 or 4 figures moving about the large object on the ground, which was pulsating from dim to bright. They were dressed in a "gold shiny material." She watched them for about two hours before going to bed.

Donald Johnson indicates that the sources are David F. Webb and Ted Bloecher, HUMCAT: Catalogue of Humanoid Reports, case 1966-56, citing NICAP.

Points to consider:

The report is very anecdotic: it is not known to whom the witness reported the sighting, it is not known who published it initially as "NICAP" does not allow to locate a ufological source, as this large group of ufological investigations had thousands of members and issued mountains of reports and data. The age of the witness is not known, the distance of observation is not known, it is not know whether there was an investigation or not, and so on.
