BEFORE NOVEMBER 24, 1965, COOPER CITY, FLORIDA, USA, JAMES ALLEN ALDRIDGE AND HIS FAMILY:

Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

Ufologists noted that some unspecified local newspaper dated November 25, 1965 and apparently some police involvement are about a November 24, 1965, sighting by James Allen Aldridge and his family.

At 06:45 p.m., they reportedly heard a loud blast outside their mobile home trailer in Cooper City, Florida, USA, and saw a flash in the western sky.

Aldridge went to his barn to check on his stock and, there, he saw a man about 5 feet tall, with wide shoulders and a narrow waist. He shouted at that man but got no response. His dog was shaking with fright at the sight of the strange figure.

Aldridge then drove off to get the police, but when they returned they couldn't find anybody.

[Ref. dj1:] DONALD JOHNSON:

Donald Johnson indicates that on November 24, 1965, James Allen Aldridge and his family heard a loud blast outside their mobile home trailer in Cooper City, Florida and saw a flash in the western sky at 18:45 p.m. Aldridge went to his barn to check on his stock and there he saw a man about five feet tall, with wide shoulders and a narrow waist. He shouted at the man but got no response. His dog was shaking with fright at the sight of the strange figure. Aldridge then drove off to get the police, but when they returned they could find no one.

The sources are indicated as David F. Webb and Ted Bloecher, HUMCAT: Catalogue of Humanoid Reports, case 1965-67, citing local police and a newspaper source dated November 25, 1965.

[Ref. ar1:] ALBERT ROSALES:

Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Cooper City, Florida, on no later than November 24, 1965, at 1845, James Allen Aldridge and his family heard a loud blast outside their trailer home and saw a flash in the western sky. Aldridge went to his barn to check his stock and there he saw a man about 5 ft tall, with wide shoulders and a narrow waist. He shouted to the man but got no response. His dog was shaking with fright at the sight of the strange figure. Aldridge then drove for the police; when they returned, they could find nothing.

Albert Rosales indicates as source Local police and Newspaper source.

Points to consider:

This is apparently a story picked up in a newspaper, a newspaper that cannot be checked because it remained unspecified. There is no reason to link the figure with a UFO, since the blast and the flash in the western sky could have been a thunderstorm: we are told nothing about the weather. The description of the figure is extremely vague, the lighting condition, the distance, whether the man was familiar with the place or not, whether it was in the barn or near the barn is not told. All this does not make for a "good" case.
