AUGUST 9, 1965, OR SEPTEMBER 15, 1965, LIMA, LIMA, PEROU, A MUSICIAN:

Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

A story says that in the periphery of Lima, Peru, on August 9, 1965, or around September 15, 1965, at 10 p.m. or in the night, a professor of music or a popular musician, who remained anonymous "and a high-ranking state official" was or were driving when the car's engine gave signs of failure and stopped.

The car was reportedly bathed in a beam of light from above, lifted from the road and carried through the sky on an unknown distance, at an altitude so high that the paralyzed witness could see the coast and a peninsula, La Punta, in the west of the city.

The car was allegedly landed back at a place that the witness was unable to determine but close to the coast because he heard the sound of the waves, and there, a voice speaking a perfect Spanish asked him to get out of the car.

Once he did, he "could barely distinguish" little men with large ears.

Apparently no UFO was seen, but it is said there was "a luminous screen nearby", on which he would have read "We are using calming rays on you to remove your fear."

The musician allegedly asked several questions, in answer to which the spokesman told him that they came from a place more distant than Mars, that they had visited the earth on various occasions in the past, and than they did not appear in public because it could cause a panic.

Asked whether the knew music, the spokesman allegedly played "something that might be considered as music, but that had the power of raising the feelings to the highest exaltation."

One source indicates that the voice reportedly stated "We come from a distant star... know your... languages. ...We like music very much, and... especially esteem yours."

Then his car was transported again though the sky back to where it had been taken. The musician allegedly told this story to an uncle who was a Peruvian police officer who in turn told it newspapermen, and it then seemed to have been picked up by the ufologist Richard Heiden.

Narratives:

[Ref. bh1:] ROBERT E. BARTHOLOMEW AND GEORGE S. HOWARD:

The authors indicate that about September 15, 1965, near Lima, Peru, in the night, a popular musician and a companion were driving when their car stopped and rose into the air, and a voice said, "We come from a distant star... know your... languages. ...We like music very much, and... especially esteem yours." They also said, "We believe in God." The car was then returned to the ground.

The authors indicate that the source is "Listing of 'Type 1' Cases", compiled by Richard Heiden, at a date unknown.

[Ref. ar1:] ALBERT ROSALES:

Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Lima, Peru, on August 9, 1965, at 2200, the anonymous witness, a "sedate" music teacher and "high public employee," was driving in the outskirts of Lima when his car's motor started to miss, and then stopped. At that moment the car, surrounded by a beam of light from above, rose up from the road and was then carried through the sky for an unknown distance, at an altitude such that the witness could see the coastline and a peninsula, La Punta, west of the city. He was paralyzed. The car was returned to the ground at a place he could not identify (but near the coast, for he could hear waves breaking), where a voice speaking perfect Spanish asked him to get out. He did so, and "could barely make out" little men with big ears. Apparently no UFO was seen, but there was a luminous screen nearby, on which he read; "We are using calming rays on you to remove your fear." He then asked several questions, in response to which the spokesperson told him that they came from a place more distant than Mars, that they had visited Earth on various occasions in the past, and that they did not appear in public because that might cause panic. Asked if they knew music, he caused the witness to hear "something that might be considered as music, but that had the power of raising the feelings to the highest exaltation." Then his car was transported back through the air to the spot from which he had been picked up. He told his story to an uncle, an official in the Peruvian police, who informed reporters.

Albert Rosales indicates as source "Humcat quoting Newspaper source."

[Ref. ud1:] "UFODNA" WEBSITE:

The website indicates that on August 9, 1965, at 22:00, in Lima, Peru, an abduction by alien entities was reported by one witness on a highway.

The website then gives the summary as in [ar1].

The sources are indicated as Webb, David, HUMCAT: Catalogue of Humanoid Reports; Rosales, Albert, Humanoid Sighting Reports Database.

Points to consider:

The story does seem to be characteristic of newspapers' inventions, possibly some publicity stunt, or possibly some anonymous "reader's letter" to a newspaper. The credibility is nil.
