MARCH 6, 1965, MOBILE, ALABAMA, USA, MRS B. S. CRUTCHFIELD:

Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

It seems that in 1978, ufologist Ted Bloecher investigated or recorded a case dated March 6, 1965, at 07:30 p.m., in Mobile, Alabama, USA.

It is said that Mrs. B. Crutchfield saw a sphere encircled in the middle with windows. This UFO came to within 150 feet distance and an estimated altitude of only 65 feet from the ground, as if it was going to crash in the street.

She could see a human-appearing pilot or occupant inside, wearing a silver flight suit, and a second figure stood in front of an instrument panel.

The sighting lasted 2 minutes. At the time, she thought it was an experimental aircraft of the U.S. Air Force. It is said the witness reported other sightings thereafter.

[Ref. dj1:] DONALD JOHNSON:

Donald Johnson indicates that on March 6, 1965, at 07:30 p.m., in Mobile, Alabama, Mrs. B. Crutchfield saw a sphere encircled in the middle with windows. This UFO came to within 150 feet distance and an estimated altitude of only 65 feet from the ground.

She could see a human-appearing pilot or occupant inside, wearing a silver flight suit, and a second figure stood in front of an instrument panel.

At the time, the witness believed she saw an experimental aircraft of the U.S. Air Force.

The sources are indicated as David F. Webb and Ted Bloecher, HUMCAT: Catalogue of Humanoid Reports, case A0615, citing "Ted Bloecher investigation, report dated January 9, 1978".

[Ref. ar1:] ALBERT ROSALES:

Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Mobile, Alabama, on March 6. 1965, at 1915, Mrs B. S. Crutchfield was on her front steps when she saw a "basketball shaped" object come from the southwest. It "looked like it was going to crash in the street." It was encircled around the middle by windows, through one of which she was able to see an entirely human appearing occupant, dressed in a silver garment. She was able to see a second figure as the object rotated, through another window, as he stood in front an instrument panel. Closest proximity was 150 feet, and lowest altitude about 60-70 feet above ground. Duration was about 2 minutes. The object disappeared in a westerly direction. The witness had subsequent sightings.

Albert Rosales indicates as source Ted Bloecher.

[Ref. ud2:] "UFODNA" WEBSITE:

The website reports that on March 6, 1965 at 07:30 p.m., in Mobile, Alabama, USA, "basketball shaped" sphere encircled in the middle with windows came from the southwest at 150 feet, 65 feet of altitude, in a street. Inside was a human-appearing, entirely human, occupant, wearing a silver suit or garment. A second figure stood in front of instrument panel. The female witness, named B. Crutchfield, was on her front steps. She believes she saw a USAF craft. One sphere was observed by one female witness in a street (). Two 5.8-foot-tall humanoids, each wearing a silver suit, were seen.

She said that it "looked like it was going to crash in the street." She was able to see the second figure as the object rotated, through another window, as he stood in front an instrument panel. The duration was about 2 minutes and the object disappeared in a westerly direction. The witness had subsequent sightings.

The sources are indicated as Webb, David, HUMCAT: Catalogue of Humanoid Reports; Rosales, Albert, Humanoid Sighting Reports Database.

Points to consider:

Is this the sighting of a helicopter by an uneducated woman who did not recognize it? Why is there no word on whether the craft was silent or noisy? Why is this very important information missing? What sorts of other sighting did she reports? Where is the investigation file? This is a case that raises more questions than it holds answers, as only short summaries seems to have survived tha passage of time.
